6-JOE, SE (λex/λem: 520/548nm in DMF) is the single isomer preparation of the amine-reactive dye. It has fluorescence characteristics that are red-shifted as compared to fluorescein and is one of the traditional fluorophores used in automated DNA sequencing. It is also used to label nucleotides.
