6-ROX (λex/λem: 570/591nm in DMF) is a derivative of carboxy-X-rhodamine, the pure-6 isomer of 5(6)-ROX. It is preferred for some complicated biological applications where reproducibility is more critical than material cost since the minor positional difference between 5-ROX and 6-ROX might significantly affect some biological properties of the underlying conjugates. 6-ROX is widely used to label nucleotides and for DNA sequencing; and also for specific applications of Real-Time PCR standard (free acid form), DNA sequencing, chromatography and CE analysis.
