5-ROX (λex/λem: 570/591nm in DMF) is the purified single isomer of 5(6)-ROX. It is used for oligonucleotide labeling and automated DNA sequencing applications. It is preferred for some complicated biological applications where reproducibility is more critical than material cost since the minor positional difference between 5-ROX and 6-ROX might significantly affect some biological properties of the underlying conjugates. Cautions must be exercised to prevent the deterioration during storage. References 1. Seo, T.S., et al., Four-color DNA sequencing by synthesis on a chip using photocleavable fluorescent nucleotides.
